Indiana has the nation’s highest rates of youth who have contemplated or attempted suicide.
Healthy Communities focuses on raising public awareness of the problem of suicide and presenting proven, evidence-based strategies to prevent suicide. We offer the evidence-based Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) training to the community- our focus will be on parents, educators, community members and first responders; however, since everyone could potentially be in a position to recognize the signs and intervene by referring someone at risk of suicide, we will train anyone interested in becoming a "Gatekeeper".

Just as with CPR, QPR can be utilized to save the life of a stranger (bystander rescue) and everyone should be trained.
