Covering Kids & Families of Indiana, Inc. (CKF-IN) is a statewide organization committed to ensuring that all children and families eligible for Medicaid and the State’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) are enrolled. Covering Kids & Families of Indiana is a partnership of more than five hundred organizations and individuals “Advocating Health Coverage for All.” The initiative began in LaPorte County in 2006 and became part of the statewide program in 2008. The statewide vision is for all Hoosier children and families to obtain health care coverage and their mission is to achieve that vision by actively engaging in a CARE model, focusing on:
To initiate and support a dynamic countywide process to provide access to healthcare coverage for LaPorte and Porter County children.
Covering Kids and Families of Healthy Communities is a member of Covering Kids & Families of Indiana, Inc. (CKF-IN), a statewide organization committed to ensuring that all eligible children and adults are enrolled in available health-care coverage programs.
We employ licensed Indiana Navigators here to help La Porte and Porter County families enroll in and understand state and federal health insurance programs such as Medicaid, Hoosier Healthwise, Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women, the Healthy Indiana Plan and the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Our mission is to help children, families, and adults with the application process, submitting documents, and obtain health coverage. We will provide the information you need to understand copays, power account payments, deductibles, setting up appointments with a primary care provider, and getting the most out of preventive care benefits. Our goal is simple- Make sure your family enrolls in coverage, knows how to use it, and maintain coverage once approved.
In addition to creating awareness through its network about the policies and issues impacting Hoosiers and their health care coverage, Covering Kids & Families of LaPorte County helps establish and operate community-based enrollment centers at hospitals, health centers, schools, child care and other social service providers through LaPorte and Porter County.
